A look at Pakistani Literature

Literature of Pakistan is quite rich and the Urdu literature is what is much famous in the entire world. It has produced many gems. The likes of Pakistani literatures – Ibne Insha, Faiz Ahmad Faiz, Ahmad Faraz, Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi, Munir Niazi and the likes are the ones Urdu Literature or Pakistani literature is standing on.

The literary legacy of Pakistan dates back to the Muslim period in the subcontinent originating with the arrival of the Arabs in this part of the world in 8th century A.D.

This legacy is enriched and adorned with three classical languages – Arabic, Persian and Urdu.

Apart from these three languages, Pakistani literature has many flock classics in various other regional languages likes Sindhi, Punjabi, Pashto, Baluchi, Brahui, Kashmiri and in other languages.
